Facelift & Necklift
Rhytidectomy, more commonly known as a facelift, results in a more youthful appearance by tightening the facial and neck muscles and removing any excess skin.
Skin begins to wrinkle and sag as a result of age, sun exposure and genetics. Children and young adults have smooth, round faces due to evenly distributed fatty tissues in facial contours. Over time, the folds of the chin, jawline and neck become more prominent. Not only does a facelift improve facial appearance, but it also has a dramatic effect on the neck by enhancing its contour and profile.
A facelift can make a patient look younger and more refreshed. Our objective is to create a natural appearance that is pleasing to you. Dr. Chalekson will discuss with what realistic expectations you can expect.
A facelift requires a week to 10 days of recovery. Discomfort is controlled with prescribed medication. Complications are uncommon. Smokers are required to stop smoking (including nicotine patches and gum) at least 4 weeks prior to and after the surgery. Smoking causes delayed healing.
